The vertical expansion of the BJC Institute of Health, involved the addition of six steel-framed floors above the existing structure.
The project presented several structural challenges, including complex connections at existing column splice locations and the integration of a newly added elevator shaft extending from the ground level through the expanded structure. These conditions required careful coordination between detailing, fabrication, and field erection to ensure accurate alignment and successful integration with the existing building framework.
